My artwork is inspired by life and a love for simple beauty. I paint primarily with acrylics, but also love using non-waterproof India ink, watercolor, and even sketching on my phone.
It can be a wonderful feeling to evoke a response in others with what I create, but it's ultimately the creative process that engages me most.
What is felt and learned seems to be built upon a much greater process of living. There's no experience like allowing yourself to be a child again, to be curious, removing all fear and doubt, and surrendering yourself to just creating. And in the end, there is never failure, but a truth that you've given birth to that has never once existed.
"The creative process is a process of surrender, not control."
~ Julia Cameron
I have a passion for designing elegant, simple, and accessible products for humans interacting in a digital environment.
I've been working as a designer and developer for 20 years, often filling other roles in business and product strategies, research and data analysis, wireframing and coding, and mixing user experience and user interface design.
I love making the complex appear simple and find beauty in well-formed and organized code. I strive to narrow the gap between people and technology and to create a long-lasting and emotional connection with the end-user. I enjoy making minuscule improvements that may seem trivial to some, but wonderfully improve and enhance the overall user experience.
"Creativity is more than just being different. Anybody can plan weird; that's easy. What's hard is to be as simple as Bach. Making the simple, awesomely simple, that's creativity."
~ Charles Mingus
